Austin;s Hope was founded in 2017, by a young widow, after losing her husband to suicide. Founded in his memory, she wanted to bring hope to others and turn her pain into passion. After Austin's passing, his widow discovered the community was lacking resources for those in her position and suffering with the loss of a loved one to suicide. This is where her vision for Austin;s Hope came to life.
"My dream was, and still is, to develop and become the organization that I wish I'd had when I lost my husband." - Nicki Grant, Founder
With nothing more than a heart beat for this cause and enough grief to last a life time, Nicki began her journey in creating what is now known as Austin;s Hope. Being a resource center for survivors of suicide, and/or anyone struggling with thoughts of suicide themselves, Austin;s Hope stands to create a safe space for healing, happiness, and hope.
All of the staff and volunteers at Austin;s Hope have been directly affected by suicide in some way, and understand the lasting impacts that it can have on the life of another. Our organization exists so that no one, anywhere, need suffer alone. When all feels lost, there is hope, Austin;s Hope.
If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide please call or text the National Suicide Hotline at 988 (available 24/7.) If you have found yourself in an emergent situation, please call 911.
The mission at Austin;s Hope is simple; to help heal the hurting, overcome the odds, prevent suicide, and encourage others to share their stories and spread HOPE to the world.
